Blackberry Memory an Issue? – Clear The Event Log

As most Blackberry owners know, memory is sometimes a little tight on our beloved devices. Aside from keeping your inbox organized, deleting unused applications, using a media card, and doing a battery pull atleast once a week, there is not much one can do to free up some memory.  Well, there is something else, and as small as it may be, it can help. This article will walk you through clearing your Blackberry’s “event log”.

While you are on your homescreen, press and hold the ALT key and press ‘L’ ‘G’ ‘L’ ‘G’. LGLG. That should launch your event log.

Event Log

Once that opens, press your menu button and select ‘OPTIONS’.

Options

‘WARNING’ should be selcted at the top right of your screen. Click ‘WARNING’ and select ‘DEBUG INFO’ from the dropdown.

Debug Info

Once you have chosen ‘DEBUG INFO’ click your menu button again and select ‘SAVE’.

Save

You are now back at the main screen of your ‘Event Log’. Click your menu button and select ‘CLEAR LOG’.

Clear Log

Confirm you would like to delete the event log data by selecting ‘DELETE’ when prompted.

Delete

Once the log is empty, press your menu button and select ‘OPTIONS’. Change ‘DEBUG INFO’ to ‘WARNING’. Open your menu and select ‘SAVE’.

WARNING

Save

You can exit the Event Log by selecting close from the menu.

Close

I always perform a battery pull after clearing my event log, but this extra step is not really necessary. Hope this is helpful and make sense! If not, say so in the comments.
